MPFSC to Host the 12th Annual Mountain Town Classic Competition, April 9, 2016

On Saturday, April 9, 2016, the Mt. Pleasant Figure Skating Club will be hosting the 12th annual Mountain Town Classic Competition.  The event, a part of the Michigan Basic Skills Series, will play host to competitors from all over the state. Skaters from Snowplow Sam to Preliminary level compete in various events, including Elements (Compulsory) and Programs to music (Free Skate).   This is a great opportunity for our Learn to Skate skaters to try competing in an environment that is familiar and comfortable for them and as a bonus every competitor receives a medal corresponding to their final placement.

  • Basic Skills Compulsory (Elements) (SPS 1 – Basic 8)
  • Basic Skills Program with Music (SPS 1 – Basic 8)
  • Compulsory (Beginner – Preliminary)
  • Free Skate (Beginner – Preliminary)
  • Well Balanced Free Skate (Pre-Preliminary – Preliminary)
  • Artistic Showcase (Basic Skills – Preliminary)
  • Solo Dance (Preliminary – Pre-Bronze)
  • Spins (Beginner – Preliminary)
  • Special Olympics (Badge 1 – 12)

All registered participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt from the event, so be sure to specify your skater’s shirt size when you sign up.

The Announcment and Registration Forms can be downloaded here or picked up at the Learn to Skate Cart.  Online registration should be available on within the next few days.  Deadline for entries is March 21, 2016.
