Through the development of athleticism and artistry, skaters build a solid skill foundation that drives success on and off the ice.
The Mt Pleasant Figure Skating Club is excited to introduce the U.S. Figure Skating Aspire Program!
The Aspire program is for skaters in Basic 4 and up and marks the transition from skater to figure skater teaching athletes the skills they need to make the most out of their figure skating journey.
Aspire offers a safe and supportive group training environment in which skaters will learn proper skill development and training techniques while sampling different skating opportunities and fine-tuning their fundamental skating skills. The Aspire program will help you become the best skater you can be!
Mt Pleasant Figure Skating Club’s Aspire program gives skaters an affordable next step to help transition from Learn to Skate to club ice and private lessons. Skaters can participate in the Aspire Program while continuing with their Learn to Skate classes. We also highly encourage skaters who are all ready taking private lessons consider joining in on the fun.

Why should you join ASPIRE?
Aspire teaches the whole skater and features a character development aspect. Skaters learn and grow as they develop the core values of Aspire: Attitude, Sportsmanship, Perseverance, Integrity, Respect, Effort.
The Aspire Program offers instruction tailored to a skater’s learning level in a small group environment. Allowing them to learn and make connections with other skaters.
Aspire introduces skaters to multiple aspects of figure skating both on and off the ice, helping them to grow and develop as a skater. Topics may include: intro to theatre on ice, intro to ice dance, power skating, moves in the field, jumps, spins, edges, competition and testing, ice etiquette, navigating club ice sessions, off ice jumps and spins, warm ups, musical interpretation and more.
Aspire has something for parents too: As the parent or guardian of an aspiring figure skater, you play a major role in shaping a skater’s career. During the session, there will be periodic 15-20 minute informational sessions covering a variety of skating topics. These will be held while the skater’s are in off-ice class. Potential topics include: U.S. Figure Skating membership, testing and competitions, introduction to judging systems, purchasing skates, and more.
*Please note all skaters enrolled in the Aspire program must be currently at or upgrade to MPFSC’s Junior Club Membership or Senior (Full) club Membership. For skaters currently enrolled in our Learn to Skate Program, the cost to upgrade to Junior Club Membership for the 2022-23 skating year is $25.00. For skaters not yet enrolled in Learn to Skate for this season, the cost of Junior Club Membership is $45.00.
