Journey Into Imagination Theater Teams

For Learn to Skate and Junior Club Skaters: 

Journey into Imagination Intro Team:  

  • Basic 4 – Pre Free Skate or have coach approval.
  • Learn basic theatrical fundamentals and skills
  • Explore creative movement on the ice
  • Learn a group program to be performed at exhibitions and/or competition.
  • Build confidence, meet new friends, and have fun building artistic skating skills.
  • Skaters must commit to performing in each of the scheduled exhibitions and competitions during their enrollment session.

Team practices are held on Thursday afternoons and are broken down into 3 sessions over the course of the skating year.  Lessons consist of on and off ice activities with skaters working towards performing a group program which not only focuses on skating skills, but performance and acting as well.

Each Intro Session will have varying performance opportunities, such as the MPFSC Holiday Exhibition, Annual Ice Show, or Team Family Night.  During the Winter Session the team will also compete at the Mountain Town Classic.

Session costs may vary per session and will be payable in installments.  All session fees will include: ice costs, on and off ice instruction, costumes and accessories. During the Winter Session (January-March) fees will also include the team entry for the Mountain Town Classic Competition. Fundraising opportunities may be offered to help defer some of the costs.

For Advanced Skaters:

Journey into Imagination Theater Team:
Proudly entering our 9th season!

  • Passed Basic 5 or higher or have coach approval.
  • Develop dramatic and artistic skating skills
  • Be a part of a team and make new friends
  • Perform at competitive and exhibition opportunities
  • Skaters must commit to performing in each of the scheduled exhibitions and competitions.
  • Open to MPFSC members, as well as skaters from other area clubs.

Team practices are held on Saturday mornings from October through March and consist of on and off ice activities. Skaters work towards performing a theatrical program which not only focuses on skating skills, but performance and acting as well.  The group will be perform an exhibition at MPFSC’s annual ice show, the Mountain Town Classic, with the potential of other exhibition opportunities as well.  The team also competes at the Michigan Showcase Competition in March.

Season costs are calculated based on the number of skaters participating and payable in monthly installments. The more skaters who participate on the team, the lower the cost will be per skater.  Fundraising opportunities are also held to help defer some of the season costs.

Season fees include weekly ice fees, on ice instruction, off ice instruction, choreography, music, costumes, props, team entry & practice ice fees for the Michigan Showcase Competition and a team jacket for new members.
